Markdown.md is a native SwiftUI markdown preview manager for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. This policy explains how your information is handled when you use the app.

Data We Collect

Markdown.md collects limited anonymous analytics data to help improve the app experience. This includes:

• App usage patterns (screens viewed, features used)
• Device type and operating system version
• Crash reports and performance metrics

This data is collected anonymously and cannot be used to identify you personally. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information.

Your Content

Markdown files and folders you create in Markdown.md are stored locally on your device using SwiftData.

If iCloud sync is enabled, your content is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. The developer of Markdown.md cannot access, read, or view any files stored in your iCloud account.

Your markdown content is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

iCloud Sync

When iCloud sync is enabled:

• Your files sync automatically across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac
• Data is stored in your private CloudKit container
• All transfers are encrypted using Apple's security standards
• The app works offline-first with local persistence and syncs when connectivity is available

You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device's Settings.

File Imports & Sharing

When you import markdown files via:

• Document picker (iOS/iPadOS)
• Drag-and-drop (macOS)
• Share Extension from other apps

These files are copied to local storage and optionally synced to your iCloud account. Imported files remain under your control and are not transmitted to external servers.

Third-Party Services

Markdown.md uses analytics to understand app usage and improve the user experience. No advertising networks or tracking services are used.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Security

Your data is protected by:

• On-device encryption provided by iOS, iPadOS, and macOS
• Apple's CloudKit encryption for synced data
• No server-side storage of your content

Children's Privacy

Markdown.md does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not include age-restricted content.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Delete any file or folder at any time within the app
• Disable iCloud sync to keep data local only
• Remove the app to delete all local data
• Manage iCloud data through Apple's iCloud settings

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
